NAD+ 1000mg
NAD+ 1000mg - Advanced Cellular Energy & Longevity Coenzyme
Overview
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) although not a peptide, is still a biochemical found in all living cells within the human body. It is a coenzyme, vitally essential for hundreds of metabolic processes such as energy production (ATP), metabolism and DNA repair. NAD+ levels decrease with age (up to 50% by middle age) and correlate to age related fatigue, slow metabolism and various other age related conditions.
How it Works
Energy Production:
NAD+ works within the mitochondria as an energy courier, taking electrons and protons out of nutrients we absorb and carrying them to the electron transport chain. These electrons and protons are then used to create cellular energy (ATP). When NAD+ levels are low, the entire energy production process is slowed down.
Cellular Repair and Production:
NAD+ levels are essential for activating enzymes responsible for cellular repair. Sirtuins (a family of proteins) are activated which regulate cellular metabolism, repair damaged DNA and reduce inflammation.
Metabolic Regulation:
NAD+ acts as a metabolic messenger, signalling the cellular state to initiate relevant responses to stress and maintain a metabolic balance. This metabolic balance is responsible for energy metabolism.
