How to Reconstitute Your Peptide
First things first.....at Kynex Bioscience, we suggest that you first work out what the required dose you intend on taking is. This can help you when it comes to how much bacteriostatic water is added. It is visually easier to draw a dose in units of 10 than it is in increments of 2. This is more so the case when it comes to low doses eg: 250mcg
It is advisable to make use of a online peptide calculator to achieve this.
Example: your peptide vial of lyophilized powder is 5mg. Your required dose is 250mcg (0.25mg) With a 5mg vial, one generally adds 1ml (100units) of bac water.
This would mean you would need to draw 5 units on the syringe in order to get your 250mcg dose. It is hard to accurately draw 5 units on a syringe. It would be easier in this case to draw 10 units on the syringe. To overcome this, you would add 2ml (200units) of bac water and then your 250mcg dose would be 10 units. Let us break this example down.....
Required Dose is 250mcg (0.25mg)
Peptide Vial is 5mg
By adding 1ml of bac water, 250mcg=5units on syringe
By adding 2ml of bac water, 250mcg=10units on syringe
RECONSTITUTION STEPS
- Gather your required items for use. Peptide, Bacteriostatic water, alcohol swab, syringe.
- Gently remove the plastic cap off your vials
- Wipe the rubber tops of vials with alcohol swab
- Insert needle into rubber top of bacteriostatic water vial. Look for the small dot in the centre.
- Once the needle is inserted, turn the vial upside down and start drawing bac water into the syringe. It will most likely struggle to full up due to the vacuum pressure in the vial. Just keep pulling the plunger and then pushing air back into the vial until you get your required unit amount of bac water in the syringe. Alternatively, you could first inject air into the vial of bac water to neutralise the pressure. NB: make sure there are no big pockets of air in the syringe when you are done as this will throw off your end result when it comes to dosing!!
- Insert needle into peptide vial while controlling the plunger as the bac water will naturally want to be sucked in at force which you do not want.
- Turn peptide vial onto its side and angle the needle so bac water hits the side of the vial and does not directly shoot onto the peptide (powder).
- Slowly allow the plunger to depress until all the bac water is out of the syringe and in the peptide vial. If you need to add more bac water for reconstituting, repeat steps 5,6,7 and 8.
- Now that the bac water is in the peptide vial, allow the peptide to fully dissolve. Do Not Shake The Vial!!! You can gently roll the vial between your fingers or just leave it for 10 minutes to allow peptide and bac water time to dissolve. During these 10 mins, you can roll it around to get water on all the peptide powder.
- Once you are satisfied that all the peptide has reconstituted with the bacteriostatic water, hold the vial up to the light and check that the liquid is clear and transparent. There should be no particles visible and it should be crystal clear. It should not be murky/cloudy. If it is, do not use and please contact us!
- Now that your peptide is reconstituted, you can begin your cycle. Do not reconstitute until you are ready to start your cycle.
- Keep your reconstituted peptide in the fridge, preferably in a dark coloured container and somewhere where it is not subject to being bashed around or unnecessarily disturbed like it would be if kept in the door of the fridge.
- When taking vial out of the fridge to draw your dose, do not wait for the vial to reach room temperature. Peptides don't like constant fluctuations in temperature. At Kynex Bioscience, we suggest that you draw your dose and rather let the dose in the syringe reach room temperature before administering.
NOTES:
Do not inject air into your reconstituted peptide to neutralise the pressure and make it ''easier'' to draw out. You want to keep your peptide as pure as possible and injecting air into it defeats this objective. It is fine to do this with the bac water as in Step 5 but despite what others say, we strongly advise you do not do this with the reconstituted peptide.
